Angel Shark 

Habitat

Most Angel Sharks live in sand.

Food

The Angel Shark waits for a meal to swim by and then it eats it.  It also eats rays mollusks and crustaceans.

 

Enemies

The Angel Shark’s most dangerous enemies are the Great White Shark and humans.

Appearance

The Angel Shark’s color is swampy green. It looks like the sand on the ocean floor so when food swims by the shark can just jump up and eat it.  It can grow 5 or 6 feet long.  They weigh as much as 100 pounds. Their size is about 240 cm. 

Babies

The Angel Shark babies are about the size of 170 cm at birth.  

 

 

They spend the day hidden in the sand and rocks of the ocean bed. As fish swim by, the angel shark bursts up and surprises the prey, catching it in its trap-like jaws.

Habitat
Angel sharks are bottom dwellers that live on ocean floors of depths from 10 to 4,300 feet (3 to 1300 m). They live in warm temperate oceans in the southern hemisphere.

DISTRIBUTION

Pacific angel sharks are found in the eastern Pacific Ocean , from southern Alaska, USA to Baja, CA, USA and from Ecuador to southern Chile.
